A 50th, a proposal and some camping

WARNING: Image heavy post follows!

As my previous post mentioned, last weekend I was off 'somewhere special, for something special'. I went on a quick trip down to Movora (between Queenstown, Te Anau and Invercargill), a place where my family (and way back to when my grandparents were young) have been going camping for years. It was my Dad's partner's 50th birthday, and she didn't know that my brother and I (and some of her family) were coming down to celebrate with them, so it was a lovely surprise.

Here's a photo diary of the four days - we seem to have done a lot, but it was still very relaxing! (You can click on the photos to enlarge them if you can't read the text).

Somewhere special with special people

Hi everyone.

I'm off somewhere special, for something special for the next four days. Here's a photo of the gifts I've been working on this week - some colourful bunting that says "Happy Birthday" across it (quite an effort considering my sewing skills!), a handmade felt "In Case You Forget" brooch, and a card inspired by this. On the right, the pressies all wrapped up. I love wrapping gifts in simple wrapping, and I'm loving plain old brown packaging paper at the moment.

I'll do a blog update to let you know all about it when I get back, hopefully with photos of the lovely weather, scenery and good times.

Any orders and messages will be sorted on Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!

Lucky me

I was the very lucky winner of this giveaway over on the lovely Cat Taylor's blog the other week. I love ALL the goodies, but my absolute favourite are the fridge magnets. She has a shop on Felt if you'd like to snap up some for yourself! Thanks Cat!

Flying super cat

As I write this my poor wee kitty, Holly, is in the air between me and my Mum's place. She's been living with me in Christchurch for about eight years, and when I couldn't find a flat where they would allow cats, I asked Mum if she would mind taking her back. I hope she keeps Mum company but I was so sad to see her go (I cried, a lot, is that odd?!).

On a different note, I can't believe it's February already!!! Happy Waitangi Day for tomorrow. How super sucky is it that it falls on a weekend, grrrr!.
