Open.... for now

An unrelated but sweet cat photo

Just popping in to let you know that my shop is now open again after a lovely long break. So far summer has been a wonderful mixture of visiting my family, relaxing around home, trying new recipes, watching films and drinking in the sun -  just the way I like it so hopefully it continues for another few months.

It's a new year, a time when a lot of you are assessing life and all its got to give. You've got grand plans for what you'd like to change and what you'll achieve this year. You've even got new ideas bubbling out of your creative heads... But often for me, this time of the year is a funk of mixed emotions and thoughts. I'm not really enjoying the whole 'crafting as a business' thing at the moment. It's hard work - working full time and running a business on the side. It's sunny outside and there's so many things I'd rather be doing over boring paperwork and packaging up sales. I still love crafting, but making things to sell feels like a chore - and that's not how it should be. I've been here before and it's times like this I love being a blogger - being able to read back over all your lovely comments and suggestions last time I felt this way. This blog may be a little quiet while I reassess where I want Freedom Creative to go from here...

  1. I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I really dislike the business side of things. I just want to 'make' with complete freedom, and resent the paperwork ...orders ...costing ...planning... etc. And yet at other times I love the challenge of it all. It can be exhausting swinging between the two points of view :)

    1. Thanks for your comment - and I can completely relate to the exhaustion of the love/hate relationship. I hope this year if full of wonderful creations for you. x

Thanks for your comments, they make my day!
